Maggi Tyska grew up in Wilmette and began playing hockey in her backyard with her older brothers.  Soon she formally started her hockey career playing on Wilmette’s first girls team and winning a state championship.  She continued playing on the north shore for Wilmette, Winnetka and CYA.  Maggi went on to play for Loyola Academy during high school, was the Captain her senior year, and was selected to both the AHAI Girls High School All-State team and the Blackhawk Alumni Association Girls All-Star Team.  During her senior year she also played on a U19 team out of Wilmette and won the state championship.  Maggi graduated from Taylor University and obtained coaching experience with Wilmette, Winnetka, and Lake Forest Academy, but is excited to be with New Trier Varsity this year.
