Carla Pentimone is a Chicago Native who started playing hockey at the age of 13 after watching her brother play growing up. After a couple years playing with the boys, Carla spent her high school hockey days as a double roster player with Loyola Academy and AAA programs, such as Team Illinois, Chicago Young Americans or the Chicago Mission. She was chosen to participate in USA National Development festivals in Lake Placid. She played her freshman year for the Sacred Heart University Pioneers and was named rookie of the year. Carla transferred to Wisconsin University and walked on to the Badgers team, winning two National titles in 2009 and 2011. Carla was a three time WCHA all academic award winner and three time Community Service Award winner. She was honored with the Badger award her senior year, given to the most inspirational player on the team. After receiving her master's degree from Northwestern University, she is now in advertising for the Chicago Tribune.
